“Made in Switzerland” is written on our duvets and pillows. We want this statement to be clear to you. That is why we explain here what it means, what it does not mean and where our other products come from.

Where are our duvets and pillows made?

Our duvets and pillows are made in Switzerland by a long-established family business that we work with. This applies to all our bedding: down duvets, down pillows, synthetic duvets, synthetic pillows and our Junior bedding.

Being close to production matters to us. That is why we chose a business in Switzerland that has experience with bedding and makes our duvets and pillows to order.

For us, “made in Switzerland” means: the finished duvet or pillow is made in Switzerland, and only once you have ordered it. What this means for the origin of the individual materials is explained further below. And which of our products are made elsewhere is shown in the overview at the end.

Made to order

Our duvets and pillows are made after you order. Depending on the day you order, production takes 2–4 working days. We then send your order with Swiss Post, and delivery usually takes 3–5 working days.

There is a simple reason for this: we want to send you freshly made bedding, in exactly the size, warmth level or firmness you have chosen. For pillows that means three sizes and three firmness levels, for duvets three sizes and two warmth levels.

The total delivery time is therefore made up of both: 2–4 working days of production and 3–5 working days of delivery. We ship every Tuesday and Friday morning. Shipping within Switzerland is free.

Place of manufacture and origin of materials

The place where a finished product is made is not automatically the place of origin of every material. We want to say this openly.

  • Down and feathers: our down duvet is filled with fine European down and feathers, 90 % white goose down and 10 % fine goose feathers. The down and feathers come from ethically sound sources and are DOWNPASS certified.
  • Synthetic filling: our synthetic duvet and synthetic pillow are filled with fine polyester. They are down-free.
  • Casings: the casings of our adult duvets and pillows are made of 100 % cotton sateen.

What DOWNPASS checks is explained in our guide DOWNPASS explained.

How to recognise our quality

A few details help you assess our bedding:

  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100: our duvets and pillows are tested for certain harmful substances. More on this in the guide OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.
  • DOWNPASS: all our down products are DOWNPASS certified.
  • Quilting: our duvets have quilting that keeps the filling evenly distributed.
  • Guarantee: we give a 5-year guarantee on down products and 2 years on synthetic products.
  • Care: down can be washed at a maximum of 60 °C, synthetic at a maximum of 40 °C, each on a gentle cycle.

What makes a good duvet is explained in detail in the article What makes a good duvet?.

Bedding and bed linen: different paths

By bedding we mean the filled duvets and pillows. Our other products are made in other places:

ProductsOrigin

Bed linen in sateen, linen and jerseyMade in Portugal
Towels and bath matsWoven in Portugal

You will find the origin of each product on its product page.

What the origin statement does not mean

We deliberately say “made in Switzerland” and mean our duvets and pillows. This statement does not apply to bed linen, towels, the throw or kitchen textiles. The down itself also comes from Europe, not necessarily from Switzerland. This distinction matters to us so that you know what you are buying.

Why being close to production matters to us

A duvet accompanies you for many years, every night. That is why we want to know how it is made. Making it to order in Switzerland means short distances and freshly made bedding for us.

And when your down duvet or down pillow has reached the end of its life, you can return it to us. The reusable down and feathers are professionally cleaned and used again. How this works is explained on our Recycling page.
