Fully equipping a bed: a checklist for your new bed

A move, a first home of your own or a new guest room: suddenly there is an empty bed in front of you. What does it need? With this checklist you keep track and do not forget anything.

The checklist at a glance

• 1 duvet in the right size and warmth level
• 1 or 2 pillows per person
• 2 sets of bed linen: duvet cover and pillowcases
• 2 fitted sheets in the size of the mattress
• Optional: a throw for the foot end

Below we explain each point.

Duvet and pillows

Duvet and pillows are the foundation. You can choose between down and synthetic, and between the warmth levels “Light” and “Medium warm”.

For the size, go by your bed and by whether you want one shared duvet or two separate ones. Our adult duvets come in 160 × 210, 200 × 210 and 240 × 220 cm. The guide Duvet sizes in Switzerland helps you choose.

Our pillows come in 50 × 70, 65 × 65 and 65 × 100 cm and in three firmness levels: soft for stomach sleepers, medium for back sleepers, firm for side sleepers.

A set is the easiest option. Our Bedding Sets contain a medium-warm duvet and two matching pillows:

• Down Bedding Set: down duvet in 160 × 210 or 200 × 210 cm and two down pillows. DOWNPASS and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified.
• Synthetic Bedding Set: synthetic duvet in 160 × 210 or 200 × 210 cm and two synthetic pillows. Down-free and washable at 40 °C.

You choose the size and firmness of the pillows in the set yourself. All our duvets and pillows are made in Switzerland.

Bed linen: two sets

We recommend washing your bed linen about once a week. With two sets you can make the bed fresh while the other set is in the wash.

A set consists of a duvet cover and the matching pillowcases. Duvet and cover need the same dimensions, and the same applies to pillow and pillowcase. Our Bed Linen Sets come in two qualities:

• Sateen Bed Linen Set: 100 % cotton sateen with a thread count of 400, subtle sheen. Duvet cover in 160 × 210, 200 × 210 or 240 × 220 cm.
• Linen Bed Linen Set: pre-washed linen from European flax, natural texture. Duvet cover in 160 × 210 or 200 × 210 cm.

Each set contains a duvet cover with a concealed zip and two pillowcases with a hotel closure. Our bed linen is made in Portugal.

Fitted sheet

The fitted sheet is chosen by your mattress, not by the duvet. Measure width, length and depth. Our fitted sheets come in 90 × 200 to 200 × 200 cm. The sateen fitted sheet fits mattresses up to 40 cm deep, the jersey fitted sheet mattresses up to 30 cm deep.

Optional: a throw

A throw is not a must, but it completes the bed. Our Throw made of merino wool and cashmere measures 140 × 200 cm. At the foot of the bed it keeps you warm on cool evenings, and on the sofa too. It is made in Lithuania. We recommend professional cleaning.

Guest bed

For a guest bed, a leaner set-up is often enough:

• 1 duvet, for example 160 × 210 cm for one person
• 1 pillow per guest; a medium firmness suits many sleeping positions
• 1 set of bed linen and 1 fitted sheet
• For the bathroom: a set of towels, for example our Premium Towel Set

Store the bedding dry and airy between visits. Before the next visit, briefly air and shake the duvet.

What it costs: individually or as a set

You can buy all products individually and combine them freely. If you need a duvet and pillows or a complete set of bed linen anyway, a set is worth it. Shipping within Switzerland is free. Our duvets and pillows are made in Switzerland after you order. Production takes 2–4 working days, followed by delivery in 3–5 working days.
